The Free Market is a unique rent-a-rack consignment store in Adelaide Central Plaza. They have diverse sellers offering secondhand and new items, from clothing to shoes.
Most of the products are high-quality too. Browse through the racks to find brands like Levi’s, Adidas, Cue, Witchery, and more.
I once found a limited-edition Chanel Rugby Ball, and knowing my husband’s a football fan, I immediately grabbed it. Karl Lagerfeld designed it for the 2007 Rugby World Cup, so he was overjoyed when I brought it home!
Tip: Swing by often! Since it’s a consignment store, new items arrive all the time. Just make sure to set a budget because they have so many tempting items!

For those seeking a store that sells high-quality secondhand fashion, check out Goodbyes. Here, you’ll find a variety of clothing, accessories, and footwear for men, women, and children.
The items are a mix of local Australian and New Zealand labels, including Gorman, Zimmermann, Sass & Bide, and more. International designers like Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, and Zara are also present.
When I visited, they recently received a fresh batch of H&M products. I found some excellent summer dresses for $15 each. Now, imagine me carrying a shopping bag full of clothes!
Tip: Swing by in the afternoon. It’s less busy, allowing you to leisurely browse the racks.

You can also occasionally find books like large paperbacks on sale!
As a practical mom of two, I frequent this shop because of their dinnerware. I often buy pieces from Corelle—lightweight and durable. The best part is they only cost $7!

You’ll find brands like Mimco, Country Road, and Levi’s. The items are grouped by category, allowing you to browse systematically. And with its open layout, navigating the shop and exploring different sections is easier.
I recently discovered that they also sell books here, finding an older edition of The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. My youngest loved the story and requested that I read to her every night!
Tip: Visit after a major holiday. They often receive a ton of donations, leading to fresh and exciting stock.
Dulcie’s Vintage Bus

And they’re picky about what they sell, offering only high-end vintage labels like Dior, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and more.
Beyond fashion, you’ll also find unique and retro homeware. Think vintage teacups, mid-century glassware, and decorative plates to add nostalgia to your dinner table.
I once found a croc-embossed handbag while browsing the racks. The calfskin leather with crocodile texture was still in great condition. It was a sweet deal for $160 since the brand was Chanel!

The shop also features vinyl records and music memorabilia for music lovers to collect.
I’m a fan of Fleetwood Mac, so I was glad to have found a vinyl record of their experimental album Tusk. For $30, it was a great find, and I’m planning to return, hoping they have other albums for me to collect.

This is my go-to spot whenever I’m looking for electronics. The preloved items I got here were of high quality. For instance, the Sony flat screen that I bought for $30 three years ago still has vibrant colours!

Beyond accessories and homeware, they also sell handpicked fashion items and shoes from labels like Nike, Guess, Wrangler, and more. Plus, there are handmade and upcycled items in the specials section—great for decorating your home.
This is my spot whenever I redecorate my home. One time, I found a hand-painted vase with intricate floral design—without any cracks! It’s now sitting in my house with dahlias, giving my home a retro vibe.

I’ve been wanting a good denim jacket for a while until I came across this shop. I found one from Carhartt—a brand known for its durability. The best part is it only cost me $85!
